Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue writ of mandamus directing the respondents to implement G.O.Ms.No.409, Public Works (D1) Department dated 25.08.2003 and G.O.Ms.No.257, Public Works (D1) Department dated 12.12.2006 in letter and spirit and consequently direct the respondents to confer to the petitioners notional promotion in the cadre of Junior Engineer (Electrical) and also to refix of their seniority in the cadre of Junior Engineer (Electrical) by considering their representation dated 18.05.2017 within a time frame to be stipulated by this Hon'ble Court.

The petitioners have come to this Court seeking a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to implement G.O.Ms.No.409, Public Works (D1) Department dated 25.08.2003 and G.O.Ms.No.257, Public Works (D1) Department dated 12.12.2006 in letter and spirit with a consequential direction to the respondents to confer the petitioners with the notional promotion in the cadre of Junior Enginer (Electrical) and also to refix their seniority in the cadre of Junior Engineer (Electrical) on the basis of their representations dated 13.01.2010 and 18.05.2017 given with regard to the tentative seniority list dated 24.11.2009 prepared by the 2nd respondent.
2. Considering the limited prayer made by the petitioners, without going into the merits of the matter, placing on record the request of Mr.V.Jayaprakash Narayanan, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents to grant four weeks time to consider the representations/grievance of the petitioners, this Court directs the respondents to consider the representation/grievance espoused by the petitioners on merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
3. With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
