Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records of the 2nd respondent in his proceedings in Resolution No.2019.133.08 dt.15.2.2019 of the minutes of 133rd Executive Council meeting and quash the same and consequently direct the 2nd respondent to consider the revision of increased fees in the respondent University after having a meaningful discussion with the elected Students' Council. 1/5

ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking for a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records of the 2nd respondent in his proceedings in Resolution No.2019.133.08 dt.15.2.2019 of the minutes of 133rd Executive Council meeting and quash the same and consequently direct the 2nd respondent to consider the revision of increased fees in the respondent University after having a meaningful discussion with the elected Students' Council. 2.The learned counsel for the respondent informed the Court on instructions that since the filing of this Petition, some concession has been granted to the students and in the successive academic year, the students are paying this tuition fee.

4.To a pointed query from this Court, the learned counsel for the petitioner made a statement that the petitioner has since completed his course, even though his certificate etc., had been withheld as a punitive action for participating in the strike as a student union leader opposing the fees hike.

5.The petitioner may not have the current locus standi to challenge the fees hike when all the students are paying the tuition fee as per the revision that had taken place subsequent to the hike, as the very cause of action has lost its sheen. In view of the same, this Court considers that there is hardly anything for this Court to entertain in this Writ Petition and accordingly, it is closed. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
