Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 4 herein to take action against the respondents 5 and 6 herein for drawing water from the bore well in S.F.No.129, 130 and 138 situated at Vilanthidasamuthiram Village, Sirkazhi Taluk, Mayiladuthurai District illegally and stipulate the maximum quantity of water to be drawn for their needs.

(Made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) We have heard Mr.K.Govi Ganesan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.A.Edwin Prabakar, learned State Government Pleader,

assisted by Mr.K.Karthik Jegannath, learned Government Advocate for the respondents 1 to 4.

2. Learned State Government Pleader submits that the fifth respondent has been granted permission by the Executive Engineer to draw water to the extent of 10000 litres per day on 30.10.2021. The Panchayat Union has given no objection on 15.11.2021.

3. In view of the statement made by learned State Government Pleader, the writ petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, W.M.P.No.13524 of 2022 is closed. (S.V.G., CJ.) (J.S.N.P., J.) 17.04.2024 Index :
