O R D E R

This writ petition is preferred seeking a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to dispose of the petitioner's representations dated 01.07.2016, 03.08.2017 and 28.09.2017.

2. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner was appointed as Youth Brigade through selection process conducted by the Government of Tamilnadu on 01.06.2015. A circular memorandum was issued by the 1st respondent in Rc.No.151728/Ret.1 (1)/2015 on 28.10.2015 calling for police selection from Youth Brigade appointed in the year 2013. Some of the persons, who were appointed as Youth Brigade in the year 2013 were sent for police training, whereas, the petitioner was not called for and on a wrong assumption that he was not completed one year by taking note of the fact that the petitioner was appointed as

Youth Brigade only on 01.06.2015.

It is the further case of the petitioner that though the said circular memorandum was issued by the 1st respondent on 28.10.2015, the Tamil Nadu Uniformed Service Recruitment Board had given notification for general selection and called for applications for Grade-II Police Constables only in the year 2017 and that the test was conducted only on 01.08.2017. The petitioner has completed one year of his tenure as youth brigade as on 01.08.2017, therefore, he is also eligible to be considered for the post of Grade II Police Constable. Therefore, the petitioner has submitted various representations dated 01.07.2016, 03.08.2017 and 28.09.2017 to the respondents and the same have not been considered till date, left with no other option, the petitioner has come up with this writ petition.

He would further submit that a direction may be given to the respondents to consider the representations made by the petitioner dated 01.07.2016, 03.08.2017 and 28.09.2017. 4.Mr.K.Rajendra Prasad, learned Government Advocate, takes notice for the respondents and seeks eight weeks time to consider the representations of the petitioner. 5.Considering the limited relief sought for in the petition and without going into the merits of the matter, this Court hereby directs the respondents to consider the representations dated 01.07.2016, 03.08.2017 and 28.09.2017 made by the petitioner and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
