Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, for issuance of a writ of Mandamus calling for the records of the 1st respondent pertaining to his notice No.9: Name Transfer dated 18.02.2016, Notice: 9/1516/25863 and quash the same and consequently direct the 1st respondent to transfer the property tax demand in favour of the petitioner.

O R D E R

In respect of the demand notice issued to the writ petitioner in proceeding dated 18.02.2016, the learned counsel for the respondent brought to the notice of this Court that, the writ petitioner has already paid the entire property tax arrears and therefore no further adjudication is required in respect of the arrears of the property tax to be paid by the writ petitioner.

2. However, the learned counsel for the writ petitioner states that, her request for name transfer has not been https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

considered by the 1st respondent so far. In this regard, the writ petitioner has to establish that he is the owner of the property by producing all the relevant documents.

3. In this regard, the petitioner is directed to submit a fresh representation along with all the relevant documents to Assistant Revenue Officer,Zone-V, Corporation of Chennai within the period of 4 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. In the event of receiving any such representation from the writ petitioner, the Assistant Revenue Officer, Zone-V, Corporation of Chennai is directed to consider the same by affording the reasonable opportunities to all the parties concerned and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within the period of 12 weeks thereafter.

4. Accordingly the writ petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
