O R D E R

The present petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent police to register a case based on the complaint given by the petitioner dated 14.09.2015.

2. The petitioner has given a complaint on 14.09.2015 against her husband Senthilkumar and her in-laws on the allegation of dowry harrassment. In the said complaint, she has also made a request to get back the amount of Rs.12,00,000/- from the counter petitioners. The said complaint was lodged on 14.09.2015. Since there is no progress thereafter, the petitioner has come forward to file this petition.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.

4. Today when the matter is taken up for consideration, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the police has assigned C.S.R.377 of 2015 to the complaint given by the petitioner and the matter is under investigation. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

5. In view of the submission made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, this Court is constrained to pass the following order:- The respondent is directed to conduct an enquiry on the complaint given by the petitioner dated 14.09.2015, if enquiry was not conducted so far and upon enquiry, if materials are gathered indicating commission of any cognizable offence, the respondent is directed to proceed further in accordance with law, as early as possible, preferably within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The petitioner is also directed to co-operate with the enquiry.

6. This criminal original petition is disposed of accordingly.
