ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed by the petitioners to quash the FIR dated 04.03.2023 registered in Crime No.58 of 2023 on the file of the st respondent police.

Today when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the 1 st respondent police submitted that the investigation is already over and the charge sheet has also been filed before the Judicial Magistrate No.I, Mettur on 20.01.2025 vide Ref.No.LTN20230000972/C202500012.

3. At this juncture, the learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that this Court by order dated 04.05.2023 had granted stay of further investigation. 2/5

A perusal of records shows that when the matter came up before this Court on 04.05.2023, this Court ordered notice to the 2 nd respondent and adjourned the matter to 13.06.2023 and also directed the 1 st respondent police not to file final report till then. Subsequently, the stay was not extended and therefore, the 1 st respondent police investigated the matter and filed the charge sheet before the concern Court.

5. Since the investigation has been completed and the charge sheet has also been filed before the concern Court, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.

6. However, the petitioners are at liberty to work out their remedy in the manner known to law.
