[ RESPONDENTs ] Writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for a writ of mandamus to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 13.07.2015 consequently direct the respondents to provide agricultural Electricity connection to his well available in S.No.121/3 measuring 0.68.0 Ares in Kendiya natham village Chinnasalem Taluk Villupuram District.

O R D E R

With the consent of the learned counsel appearing on either side, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2.The Writ Petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the respondents to consider the representation submitted by the petitioner dated 13.7.2015 and to direct the respondents to provide agricultural Electricity connection to his well available in S.No.121/3 measuring 0.68.0 Ares in Kendiya natham village,

Chinnasalem Taluk, Villupuram District.

3.When the matter was called on 11.08.2015, the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent Board submitted that electricity service connection was given to the persons who applied upto 2011, whereas the petitioner made an Application for agricultural electricity connection on 03.02.1994. The only defect pointed out was that the village name of the petitioner has been wrongly given, whereas the petitioner is residing in 'Kalpadai, Kundianatham Village, Chinna Salem, Villupuam District" was correctly indicated in the application given by the petitioner and therefore taking into consideration of the lapse of more than twenty years from the date of application, this Court directed the respondents to give electricity connection on or before 26.08.2015.

4.When the matter was called today (27.08.2015), the respondent Board filed a counter affidavit by stating that as per the order of this Court, the electricity connection was given to the petitioner. For better appreciation, paragraph 9 of the counter affidavit, reads as follows:

"9.I submit that on obeying the direction issued by the Hon'ble High Court of Chennai regarding W.P.No.24778 of 2015 on 11.08.2015, immediate action was taken to get approval for extension of time to enter readiness. Based on the extension of time approval granted by the 1st respondent, readiness was entered by the petitioner on 21.08.2015. After Sanctioning of estimate, extension works were completed and service connection effected to the petitioner's well on 25.08.2015 vide service No.02552-005-111/Dt.25.08.2015." The petitioner has also complied with all the formalities as required by the respondent Board and the electricity connection has been given to the petitioner's well.

5.Recording the above, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
