This writ petition is preferred seeking a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to follow educational qualification, merits, seniority, rule of reservation under Tamilnadu Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Reservation of Seats in Educational Institutions and of Appointments or posts in the services under the State) Act, 1993 and other eligibility criteria in the recruitment for the post of Anganwadi Worker at

Nallathur-I, Chinnasalem Region, Kallakurichi Taluk, Villupuram District.

2. The petitioner, being a widow with two female children after the death of her husband on 12.01.2010, took utmost efforts to feed and nourish her children. The petitioner, who was qualified in Higher secondary education in the year 1998, registered her name with the District Employment Office, Villupuram and the registration no.VPD2009F00018711 was given to the petitioner. However, the petitioner is not able to get any job till date. While so, she came to know that for the post of Anganwadi workers under the Integrated Child Development Programme in Villupuram District, the applications were called for. She also applied for the said post at Nallathur-I along with the requisite documents to the 2nd respondent and the said authority had received and acknowledged the same by a receipt dated 28.08.2017.

3. Subsequently, the petitioner was called for interview vide call letter dated 04.09.2017 bearing Na.Ka.No.135/17. Accordingly, she appeared for the interview on 07.09.2017 at 2.00 p.m., at the office of the 2nd respondent, but, till date, the respondents have not come forward to consider the case of the petitioner. Therefore, the petitioner has filed this Writ Petition to consider her case by taking note of the fact that she belongs to Scheduled Caste Community and that she is a widow.

4. The Learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the Respondents 1 and 2 has produced a statement, in the form of table, showing the details of caste roaster for appointment of anganwadi worker and submitted that the case of the petitioner would be considered.

5. A perusal of the table showing the details of caste roaster for appointment of anganwadi workers shows that the post, which falls in Chinnasalem is allotted to Scheduled Caste Community but not priority. Considering the fact that the petitioner is a widow, having two female children and that too she belongs to a Scheduled caste community, the respondents are directed to consider the case of the petitioner on merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible.

6. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. No costs.
