ORDER

The petitioner/A8, who apprehends arrest for the alleged offences under Sections 20(b)(ii)(C), 27A, 28, and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1988, in C.C.No.372 of 2026, on the file of the learned Principal Special Judge for NDPS Cases, Chennai, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The allegation against the petitioner is that the petitioner, along with other accused, were found in illegal possession of 590 kg of ganja. Hence, the case.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Public Prosecutor for the respondent.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner/A8 would submit that this petitioner is fifty-five years old, and he was not at all involved in any of the offences and no recovery was effected from him. However, he fairly submits that the recovery from the co-accused is 590 kg, and the charge sheet has been filed.

5. From the above narration, this Court could able to visualize the seriousness of the issue. Therefore, this Court is of the firm view that the petitioner does not deserve anticipatory bail.
