O R D E R

The petitioner is the wife and the respondent is the husband. The respondent / husband filed O.P.No.2967 of 2015 on the file of the Family Court, Chennai under section 10(x) of the Indian Divorce Act 1957, seeking divorce.

2. It is not in dispute that the petitioner / wife resides at Madurai. Hence, she has filed this petition to transfer the petition in OP.No.2967 of 2015 from the file of the Principal Family Court, Chennai to the file of the Family Court at Madurai.

3. Heard both sides.

4. This Court has held in so many matters that in the matrimonial disputes, preference shall be given to the wife with reference to the place of hearing. Following the same, I am inclined to allow this Transfer Petition.

In the result, the transfer CMP is allowed and the learned Principal Family Judge, Chennai is directed to transfer the petition in O.P.No.2967 of 2015 pending on his file to the file of the Family Court at Madurai for disposal.
