ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for the issue of a writ of mandamus directing the second respondent to act upon the petitioner's application dated 18.08.2021 wherein the petitioner has sought for issuance of patta in his name with respect to the subject property. 2.

Heard Mr. G. Jeremiah, learned counsel for the petitioner

and Mr. P. Sathish, learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents.

The specific case of the petitioner is that the subject property was assigned in the name of his grandfather and the revenue records were also mutated in the name of his grandfather in patta no.255. The grandfather of the petitioner executed a settlement deed dated 09.06.2014 registered as document no.3140 of 2014 in the name of the petitioner. The petitioner submitted an application for transfer of patta in his name and since the same was not considered, the petitioner made a representation on 28.02.2025. The same also did not evoke any response. It is, in these circumstances, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court.

It can be seen from records that earlier, the petitioner filed W.P.No.15714 of 2019 for a direction to the second respondent to pass orders on his representation seeking for transfer of patta. The said writ petition was disposed of by order dated 11.06.2019 by issuing necessary directions. Since the same were not complied with, the petitioner filed Cont. Petn. No.2168 of 2019. During the pendency of the contempt petition, revenue records were mutated in the name of the petitioner's late grandfather. Thereafter, the petitioner has submitted an application to transfer the patta in his name by virtue of registered settlement deed dated 09.06.2014.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the

materials placed before this Court, there shall be a direction to the second respondent to act upon the petitioner's application dated 18.08.2021 and also the reminder that was sent on 28.02.2025 and pass necessary orders within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

This writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. There shall be no order as to costs.
