ORDER

The writ petition is filed for the issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents to pass orders granting promotion to the petitioner to the post of Middle School Head Master in Telugu Medium, in operation of approved panel as on 01.01.2022 in respect of combined seniority list of Poonamallee/Villivakkam Block in accordance with panel seniority with all consequential and other attendant benefits, in consideration of the representation submitted by the petitioner 26.01.2022.

2. By consent of both parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. According to the writ petitioner, as on 01.01.2022, his name was included in Sl.No.1 in the 2014 panel based on seniority and eligibility, duly approved by the Department for the post of Headmaster. According to the petitioner he was eligible to the post of Headmaster in Telugu medium but his name was removed from the panel and appointed was given to a candidate who studied Tamil medium. Hence petitioner made a representation dated 26.01.2022 before the respondents. The said representation is still pending and no orders have been passed. Therefore, the petitioner has filed the instant writ petition before this court.

4. Considering the limited relief prayed for in the writ petition, this court is inclined to direct the second respondent to consider the representation dated 26.01.2022 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above directions, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
