ORDER
The petitioner is running a Silver Refinery business at No.80, K.H. Road, Ayanavaram, Chennai - 600 023 under a valid licence issued by the respondent.
2. As a necessary party, the Revenue Officer, Corporation of Chennai, Zonal No.VIII, Shenoy Nagar, Chennai - 600 030 is suo moto impleaded as 2nd respondent. Mr.P.V.Selvakumar, learned counsel takes notice for the first and second respondent.

Originally, the petitioner's husband was carrying on silver refinery business in the petition premises and after his demise in the year 1986, the petitioner has been running the same business after getting renewal of the licence. The last renewal was on 30.03.2014, valid till 31.03.2015 and therefore the petitioner applied for renewal and paid the necessary fee by demand draft on https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
04.03.2015, even before the expiry of the licence. However, so far the licence has not been extended by the respondent which compelled the petitioner to come before this Court.
4. Heard Mr.A.K.Raghavalu, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.P.V.Selvakumar, learned counsel appearing for the respondent.

A perusal of the records would show that the petitioner has been running the business as evident from the licence standing in the name of the petitioner and it has also came to an end on 31.03.2015. Though the petitioner has paid the necessary fee for renewal even before expiry the licence, there is no justification for the respondent in not renewing the licence. In view of the above, the respondents are directed to renew the licence of the petitioner on or before 23.08.2015.
6. The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
