ORDER
This Writ Petition (Criminal) has been filed, seeking a direction to direct the respondents 1 to 4 to consider the petitioner's representation dated 23.08.2025 for taking further action against 5th respondent in accordance with law.
2. The case of the petitioner is that she married one R.Sumanraj on 20.05.2022 at Ettukudi Senthilvelavar Marriage Hall in the presence of both families and relatives, in accordance with Hindu rites and customs. Thereafter, the petitioner's father-in-law, Ravichandran allegedly demanded dowry and instigated her husband to have a property belonging to the petitioner's father registered in his name. It is further alleged that petitioner's husband, under the influence of alcohol and prohibited tobacco substances, subjected her to sexual abuse and now forcing her to agree to a divorce by mutual consent. In this regard, the petitioner lodged a complaint before the 4th respondent viz., AWPS Nanilam Police Station. The 4th respondent conducted a partial enquiry and issued a CSR No.0243 of 2025 dated 23.08.2025.
However, no further action was taken by the 4th respondent, due to the influence of the petitioner's husband, who is employed in the Police Department. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner made a representation dated 23.08.2025 to the respondents 1 to 4, seeking appropriate action against her husband/5th respondent.

3. Today, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents 2 to 4 produced a communication dated 08.09.2025, which is taken on record. It is seen from the said communication dated 08.09.2025 that the petitioner's complaint/representation of the petitioner, pertaining to allegations of dowry demand, harassment and coercion for divorce by mutual consent, has been forwarded to the Social Welfare Department, Tiruvarur District. A copy of the same has been furnished to the petitioner. Further, he submitted that based on the report to be received from the Social Welfare Department, Tiruvarur District, appropriate action will be taken.
