O R D E R

Heard Mr.G.Mohanakrishnan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.P.R.Dhilip Kumar, learned counsel appearing for the first and second respondents.

The petitioner has filed this writ petition for issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the first and second respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 11.05.2018 and to provide electricity supply either through existing connection bearing No.0101605899 or through a fresh connection to his premises bearing Door No.17, Saravana Nagar second street, Thiruvottiyur, Chennai - 600 019.

The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner is a lawful tenant under the third respondent and the third respondent, with ulterior motive to evict the petitioner, had not paid the electricity charges. Therefore, for the non-payment of electricity charges by the third respondent, the electricity connection was disconnected. After the disconnection, the petitioner made a representation dated 11.05.2018 to the first and second respondents to restore the electricity connection.

4. The learned counsel appearing for respondents 1 and 2, on instructions, submitted that for non-payment of electricity consumption charges, the electricity connection was disconnected. If the petitioner pay the electricity charges due to the respondents and after receipt of the entire due, the respondent Board will consider the petitioner's representation for restoration of the electricity connection.

5. In the light of the above submission, I am inclined to pass the following orders:

The petitioner is directed to pay the electricity charges due to the respondents. On payment of electricity dues, the respondent Board shall consider the petitioner's representation dated 11.05.2018 and provide electricity connection to the petitioner's premises bearing Door No.17, Saravana Nagar 2nd Street, Thiruvottiyur, Chennai within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
