PRAYER:
Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents herein to pay the compensation to the petitioner for the death of her husband during the process of cleaning the septic tank in terms of Employment of Manual Scavengers and Construction of Dry Latrines (Prohibition) Act 1993 and as per Supreme Court Judgment rendered in WP [Civil] No.583/2003 and connected matters decided on 27.03.2014. ORDER
This petition has been filed seeking compensation of Rs.10,00,000/- for the death of the petitioner's husband, in the light of the decision in WP (Civil) No.583/2003, dated 27.03.2014.
2. The learned Additional Government Pleader submitted that the District Collector, Pudukottai, has paid the compensation amount Rs.10,00,000/- (Rupees ten lakhs only) to the petitioner by way of Demand Draft on 26.12.2017. The letter of the District Collector, Pudukottai, dated 26.12.2017 and the acknowledgment of the petitioner were produced for perusal of this Court. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
3. In the light of the above facts, this Writ Petition is dismissed as infructuous. No costs.
