Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus forbearing the respondents from appointing any such committee for the conduct of the "Aadi Thee Midhi Thiruvizha" to be held on 16.08.2015 for the year 2015 to the Sri Lakshmi Amman Thirukoil situated at Lakshmi Amman Koil Street, Perambur Chennai - 600 011 or in the alternative to appoint any other suitable person to conduct the said Thiruvizha. The petitioner has come forward with this Writ Petition seeking for a direction forbearing the respondents from constituting any committee for the conduct of festival.

2.The prayer as sought for cannot be granted, as this Court cannot issue a writ against the statutory authorities from performing their duty.

3.The learned Additional Government Pleader also submitted that the festival would be conducted without any disturbance. 4.Thus, the Writ Petition stands disposed of by directing the respondents to conduct the festival without any disturbance. No costs.
