Respondent Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ of mandamus to direct the respondent to pass orders on the application of the petitioner dated 21/5/2015 for the issuance of community certificate to the petitioner's children viz.,

1. D.Dharani and 2. D. Harini that they belong to "Kurichchan (ST) Community" based upon the community certificate already issued to the close relatives of the petitioner.

(Order of the Court was made by SATISH K. AGNIHOTRI,J.,) Mrs.Srijayanthi, learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of the respondent. With the consent of the learned counsel for the parties, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal, at the admission stage itself.

2. The petitioner has filed this petition seeking a direction to the respondent to consider his application dated 21st May, 2015 and pass an order at the earliest.

3. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent submits that if the application of the petitioner is still pending, the same shall be considered and decided within a period of eight weeks, in accordance with law and on its own merit. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

4. In view of the above, we direct the respondent to consider the application of the petitioner, if it is pending on its file and pass an appropriate order, on merit and in accordance with law, preferably, within a period of eight weeks, from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
