Heard the Learned Counsel for the Petitioner and the Learned Additional Government Pleader for the Respondents 1 to 3.
2. This Writ Petition is filed seeking Mandamus to direct the 1st respondent to dispose of the appeal petition dated 09.11.2012 pending with him.
3. The grievance of the petitioner is that, the patta was granted to him in S.No.105/1A1B, Pallikaranai Village, Sholinganallur Taluk, by the Tahsildar, Saidapet Taluk on 06.02.1988. Subsequently, based on the appeal preferred by one Ravi, the patta was canceled on 16.04.2012. Aggrieved by that, the petitioner preferred an appeal before the District Revenue Officer, Kancheepuram to cancel the order passed by the Revenue Divisional Officer, Tambaram. The said appeal though filed as early as 09.11.2012 till date, the District Revenue Officer has failed to pass order. Hence, the present Writ Petition has been filed.
4. After notice, the 2nd respondent through Additional Government Pleader would report that the enquiry in the appeal preferred by the petitioner has been commenced and necessary orders will be passed, after affording opportunity to the parties concerned.
5. The Learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner also admits that, after filing the Writ Petition, summons were issued to the petitioner to participate in the enquiry and petitioner has attended the enquiry on 14.10.2019. Recording the progress in the appeal preferred by the petitioner, it is suffices to direct the District Revenue Officer, Greater Corporation Chennai, to complete the enquiry and pass orders on merits, in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks, from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
