Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issue of Writ of Certiorari calling for the records of the impugned advertisement of the respondent dated 2.6.2015 and consequently quash the same.

ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by The Hon'ble Chief Justice) An additional counter-affidavit has been filed by the first respondent Bank accepting the mistake that crept in, as much as the Bank should have allocated four posts to Visually Impaired persons as under:- "1.Officer Scale-1 ... 2 posts 2.Office Assistant (Multipurpose)...
2 posts"
2. The additional counter-affidavit proposes that these vacancies would be filled in, in the forthcoming recruitment year i.e. on a subsequent notification.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioners points out that the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) examination is a prerequisite to the recruitment and the eligibility is valid till 14.11.2015. Thus, the persons would have to go through the rigours of examination again. Not only that, as per the interim orders of this Court, four posts which had become vacant subsequently have been kept reserved vide order dated 27.8.2015.

In the aforesaid peculiar facts and circumstances, it is agreed that these four posts be filled in by issuing supplementary notification to avoid any complication and giving all such Visually Impaired persons a chance. Steps should be taken immediately and the qualification obtained by clearing IBPS examination would make Visually Impaired persons eligible for this recruitment. At request of learned counsel for the first respondent Bank, six weeks' time is granted to issue the notification and endeavour to complete the process.
5. Further, at request of the learned counsel for the first respondent Bank, liberty is granted to make adjustment in the next recruitment process as Orthopedically and Hearing Impaired persons were granted excess seats, while seats were denied to Visually Impaired candidates.
6. The writ petition, accordingly, stands disposed of. No costs.
