O R D E R

(The case has been heard through video conference) The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 24.07.2020 for the offences punishable under Section 341, 294(b), 393, 397 and 506(ii) IPC, in Crime No.1408 of 2020, seeks bail.

2.The case of the prosecution as per the defacto complainant one Soundarajan is that on 21.07.2020 when he and his friends were standing in front of his house and chatting with each other, he saw the victim Kousalya was coming by walk towards his house, at that time, the petitioner along with other accused came in a motor cycle and stopped near the victim and under the guise of asking her some address, snatched the chain of the victim. When the victim raised alarm, the defacto complainant and the people around attempted to apprehend the accused persons, during which, they have threatened the people with deadly weapons, thereafter, the local people have caught them red handed on the same place. 3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is innocent and this case has been falsely put up against him.

4.The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) would submit that the petitioner along with other accused, under the guise of asking for address, came near the victim and snatched her gold chain. He would further submit that the petitioner is a habitual offender and having several cases of chain snatching and theft. He would further submit that the petitioner has also involved in one murder case for gain.

5.Taking into consideration of the facts and submissions so made by the learned counsels and also considering the fact that the petitioner was caught red handed by the people around and has got number of previous cases to his credit, this court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

6.The Criminal Original petition stands dismissed accordingly.
