The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 4 to grant permission to the petitioner for conducting the fair for the period of 38 days from 24.04.2026 to 31.05.2026 with 15 days for preparation and 10 days for dismantling at Vyasar Nagar SQ Compound, Perambur, Chennai, 2/5

based on the letter dated 20.02.2026 and consequently direct them to accept the payments made by the petitioner vide letter dated 28.03.2026 to the third respondent.

2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the third respondent vide letter dated 20.02.2026 gave acceptance to lease the vacant land on short term rent for the period from 24.04.2026 to 31.05.2026, however, the respondents are delaying in granting permission for conducting the fair for the said period. Hence, this Court may issue direction to the respondents to grant permission to the petitioner for conducting the fair for the period of 38 days from 24.04.2026 to 31.05.2026 with 15 days for preparation and 10 days for dismantling at Vyasar Nagar SQ Compound, Perambur, Chennai.

3.The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents submitted that the acceptance to lease the vacant land on short term rent in favour of the petitioner was cancelled on 04.04.2026 and the demand draft was also returned to the petitioner. 4.Recording the submissions made by the learned Standing 3/5

Counsel appearing for the respondents, this writ petition stands disposed of with liberty to the petitioner to work out the remedy in the manner known to law. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
