This Original Petition has been filed under Sections 218 & 278 of the Indian Succession Act, 1925 seeking Letters of Administration relating to the estate of V.Anantharaman and A.Jaya both of them had died intestate and issueless. The petitioner is the daughter of the deceased sister, Shanti Narayanan, of V.Anantharaman. V.Anantharaman had another brother V.Balasubramanian, who predeceased him and his wife. An affidavit has been filed by the Power of Attorney of the Petitioner, that she does not know the whereabouts of the widow of V.Balasubramanian, Sudha Balasubramanian. It was further stated that V.Balasubramanian did not have any children.

2.After necessary procedures were completed, the petitioner was invited to adduce evidence. The Power of Attorney holder was examined as PW-1. The Power of Attorney was marked as Ex.P1. The Death Certificates of A.Jaya, V.Balasubramanian, Shanti Narayanan and Anantharaman were marked as Exs.P3 to P6. The statements given by Vijaya Bank and Bank of Baroda were marked as Exs.P7 and P8. The copy of the paper publications were marked as Exs.P10 and P11.

Smv 3.In view of the evidence adduced, I hold there is every reason to grant the relief sought in the Original Petition namely, granting Letters of Administration.

4.With the above observations, this Original Petition stands allowed. The petitioner is directed to duly administer the properties and credits of the deceased more fully described in the schedule. The petitioner is directed to execute a bond for a sum of Rs.25,000/- (Rupees Twenty Five Thousand only) in favour of the Assistant Registrar (O.S.II) High Court, Madras. The petitioner is further directed to render true and correct accounts once in a year.
