O R D E R

The petitioner has come forward with this petition seeking for a direction to quash the proceedings in Crime No.482 of 2013 pending on the file of the first respondent police.

2. It is seen that the alleged offences attributed against the petitioner are under Sections 147, 148, 341, 294(b), 506(ii) and 448 IPC and Section 3 of TNPPDL Act. When the matter is taken up for hearing, the petitioner and the second respondent appeared in person and their identification is also verified by this Court and they have filed a memo of compromise stating that since the matter has been compromised, the second respondent agreed to withdraw the above said case in Crime No.482 of 2013 pending on the file of the first respondent.

3. Considering the nature of allegation and also considering https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

the memo of compromise, this Court is of the opinion that no useful purpose would be served by keeping the matter pending. Therefore, the entire proceedings in Crime No.482 of 2013 on the file of the firs respondent, in respect of the petitioner alone is, hereby, quashed and this Criminal Original Petition is allowed accordingly. The joint compromise memo shall form part of the order of this Court. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is also closed.
