The present criminal original petition has been filed seeking direction to the respondent to register the complaint given by the petitioner dated 12.08.2015 and to proceed with the investigation according to law.

2. The case of the petitioner is that he is working as a Secretary at Perunjcheri Agricultural Co-operative Society, Perunjeri (Post), Cuthalam Taluk. One Shanmugam, S/o.Subu Udayar has committed theft of paddy rice worth about Rs.8 lakhs from the godown and he has also admitted the offence committed by him. In this regard, a complaint has been lodged by the petitioner to the respondent police on 12.08.2015, but till date no action has been taken. Hence, the present criminal original petition has been filed.

3. I have heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.

4. Considering the submissions made on either side, this Court is constrained to pass the following order: https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

The respondent is directed to conduct enquiry on the complaint of the petitioner dated 12.08.2015 and upon enquiry, if materials are gathered indicating commission of any cognizable offence, he is directed to proceed further in accordance with law.

This criminal original petition is disposed of accordingly.
