Petition filed under Article 226 of The Constitution of India praying to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondent to permit Chennai-North District DMK Political Party to hold Demonstration (Aarpaattam) on 17.08.2015 in front of 'Mariam Marriage Hall' situated at K.H.Road, Korukkupet, Chennai by considering the petitioner's representation dated 10.08.2015. Seeking a direction to the respondent to permit the petitioner to hold a demonstration on 17.08.2015, the petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition.

2.The petitioner submitted a representation dated 10.08.2015 requesting to conduct demonstration in a particular place. 3.Mr.S.T.S.Moorthy, the learned Government Pleader, on instructions, submitted that the said place is highly congested, particularly taking into consideration the topography of North Madras where the streets are extremely narrow and highly crowded. He further submitted that the demonstration can be held on 17.08.2015 in Vaidhyanathan Street between 11.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

4.Accordingly, the Writ Petition stands disposed of with a direction to the respondent to permit the petitioner to conduct the demonstration on 17.08.2015 in Vaidhyanathan Street between 11.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m., subject to other conditions as imposed by the respondent. The petitioner is also permitted to put up temporary Shamiyana for the said period without any disturbance to the general public for both ingress and egress. It is made clear that after the period is over the same will have to be removed. No costs.
