O R D E R

For non-compliance of the order of this Court, dated 17.11.2022 passed in W.P.No.39103 of 2016, this contempt petition is filed.

2. Today, when the contempt petition is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners/contemnors submits that, this Court, vide order dated 17.11.2022, directed the first respondent to disburse the compensation in terms of the award passed by this Court in A.S.No.559 of 2002 dated 27.11.2007 to the petitioners. He further submits that the first respondent has also disbursed the amount except interest on solatium and the petitioners have filed E.P.No.1 of 2020 before the Sub Court (LAOP), Thiruvallur, therefore, liberty may be granted to the petitioners to canvass all the points before the Sub Court (LAOP), Thiruvallur, with regard to the interest on solatium.

3. In view of the submission made by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners/contemnors, this Contempt Petition is closed. Liberty is granted to the petitioners to work out their remedy before the Sub Court (LAOP), Thiruvallur, with regard to interest on solatium. 08.11.2024 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No Speaking Order : Yes / No ssb
