O R D E R

The present petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent to register the case, investigate the matter, pertaining to the complaint dated 11.01.2015 vide CSR No.14 of 2015 and to deal according to law.

2. The petitioner herein lodged a complaint against her husband Ganesh alleging that she married the said Ganesh on 11.07.2014 at Kovilampakkam, Chennai; that the said marriage was an arranged marriage; that at the 11st hour of the marriage, the Ganesh and his family members demanded brand new SUV (Renault duster) car and a 3 bedroom flat at Santhome; that the

petitioner's parents spent huge money to meet out their demands and for marriage expenses; that subsequent to the marriage, the petitioner and her husband stayed at Kabini and during that time, her husband pestered her and threatened the parents of the petitioner that they would sent the petitioner out of matrimonial home if their demands are not fulfilled; that subsequently, the petitioner became pregnant but she was made to do the household work without giving food; that she was insulted by her husband and her in-laws; that the petitioner was taken to a hospital at Pallavaram and gave fake medicines and thereby terminated the pregnancy of the petitioner against her will; that thereafter the petitioner went to her parent's house; that the petitioner was forced to give consent for mutual divorce to her husband and when she refused, she was threatened by her husband Ganesh.

Hence, a complaint was lodged by the petitioner against her husband on 11.01.2015. Since no action was taken by the respondent police on the complaint given by the petitioner for the past 9 months, the petitioner has come forward to file this petition to register the complaint.

3. When the matter is taken up for consideration, learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that on the complaint given by the petitioner, C.S.R.No.14 of 2015 was assigned and the enquiry is under progress.

4. Considering the submissions made on either side, this Court directs the respondent to conduct an enquiry on the complaint dated 11.01.2015 lodged by the petitioner, and if materials gathered indicates commission of any cognizable offence, he is directed to proceed further in accordance with law, as early as possible.

5. This criminal original petition is disposed of accordingly.
