ORDER
The petitioner has come forward with this writ petition for issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the second respondent to form a Town vending committee and make survey and to issue identity cards to the street vendors of the petitioner's association, as per the Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending ) Act, 2014.
2. Heard Mr.P.Vijendran, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mr.V.Shanmuga Sundar, learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents 1, 3 and 4 and Mr.P.Srinivas, learned Standing counsel for the second respondent and perused the materials available on record.
3. The learned counsel for the second respondent submitted that during the pendency of the writ petition, the second respondent has already formed a Street Vending Committee and they have now conducted survey and identity cards will be issued to street vendors, wherever there was no objection to put up the bunk shop and the process would be completed in a short while.
4. The learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents 1, 3 and 4 submitted that the fourth respondent has provided police protection, whenever a request is made by the third respondent and they have not caused any interference or threat to the members of the petitioner's association.
5. In the light of the above submissions made by the learned Standing counsel for the second respondent and also considering the nature of prayer sought for in the writ petition, this Court, directs the second respondent to complete the process, within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. However, there shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. Sd/- Deputy Registrar(CS) //True Copy// Sub Assistant Registrar ms
