2. When the matter was taken up for hearing today, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent submitted that this Court, vide order dated 21.11.2025 made in Crl.O.P.No.31845 of 2025, disposed the said petition with a direction to the respondent police to complete the investigation and file the final report in Crime No.645 of 2025 within a period of three months and that the order under contempt has been duly complied with and final report has been filed as early as on 28.04.2026.

3. Mr.Senthil Vinayagam, Inspector of Police (Crime), Tiruvannamalai, the respondent/alleged contemnor, appeared before this Court today and submitted that while the order under contempt has been complied with, there was admittedly a delay and that the said delay was neither wilful nor wanton, but was occasioned solely due to administrative reasons, as the respondent-police had to conduct a due and proper investigation in connection with the FIR in Crime No. 645 of 2025, which required some time and he tendered an unconditional and sincere apology for the said delay and prayed that he may be purged of the contempt proceedings and the charges be dropped. 2/4

4. Though there had been some delay in complying with the order of this Court, in view of the above submission made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) and also considering the submissions made by the respondent/alleged contemnor and the sincere apology tendered by him, this Court finds it unnecessary to continue with the contempt proceedings and accordingly, this contempt petition stands closed.
