Petition filed under Article 226 of the constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the representations dated 14.06.2013, 15.12.2013, and 30.06.2014 and change the erroneous classification made (during such settlement proceedings) in respect of land comprised in Survey No.192, Vellanur Village, Ambattur Taluk, Thiruvallur District, measuring Ac.5.64 Cents or thereabouts and record the same as "ryotwari" patta land and grant patta to the petitioner.

By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.
2. The petitioner would claim that the land in Survey No.192 situated in Vellanur Village, Ambattur Taluk, Thiruvallur District, measuring Ac.5.64 cents belongs to his grand father. The petitioner now claims to be in joint possession along with the legal heirs. The petitioner came to know that the ownership of the above said land has been wrongly classified in the settlement proceedings as Government promboke. In this regard, he has submitted a representation on 31.10.2005 followed by number of reminders and the last such representation was submitted on 30.06.2014. Since he has not favoured with any response, he came forward with this writ petition.
3. Mrs.P.Rajalakshmi, the learned Government Advocate takes notice on behalf of the respondents 1 to 3.
4. Taking into consideration the limited scope of the prayer sought for, without going into the merits of the case, this Court directs the 3rd respondent to dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 30.06.2014 on merits and in accordance with law, after putting on notice to the persons concerned and pass orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the same to the petitioner. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
