Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to consider the representation dated 01.11.2014 with regard to the payment of Duty period arrears with 6% interest in the light of G.O.Ms.No.207 School Education (G2) Department dated 30.09.2008.

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal. 2.The petitioners are retired Head Masters and they submitted representation dated 01.11.2014 praying for consideration of their claim to extend the benefits of duty period with consequential benefits as per the G.O.Ms.No.207 School Education (G2) Department dated 30.09.2008 and since no orders have been passed, came forward to file this writ petition.
3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners would submit that in similar facts and circumstances, this Court vide order dated 11.12.2014 made in W.P.No.32617 of 2014 has directed the second respondent therein, namely, District Elementary Educational Officer, Nagapattinam District to consider the claim of the petitioner in the light of the said Government Order and prays for similar relief. 4.Heard the submissions of Mr.G.Punniyakotti, learned counsel appearing for the petitioners and Mr.R.Vijayakumar, learned Additional Government Pleader who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.
5.This Court taking into consideration the limited scope of the prayer sought for by the petitioners and without going into the merits of the same directs the second respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioners representation dated 01.11.2014 on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of ten weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioners. 6.The writ petition is disposed of accordingly.
