O R D E R This petition has been filed under Rule 2(A) of Appendix V of the Madras High Court Appellete Side Rules. The prayer is to permit the petitioner to file this writ petition without impleading the selected candidates for the post of Assistant Engineers in 2014-2015 vide Advertisement No.01-05/MTC/2014 dated 02.11.2014 issued by the 1st respondent.

2.The writ petition is one challenging the selection for the post of Assistant Engineer, pursuant to the recruitment notification issued in 2014. The petitioner has filed the writ petition without impleading the selected candidates. However, he seeks permission to file the writ petition without impleading the persons who are interested. Though the Rule 2(A) of the Rules will come to the aid of the petitioner to file a writ petition without impleading all the selected candidates but by impleading anyone of them by showing him/her representing other selected candidates, this petition is not maintainable, as the petitioner seeks relief which is against settled principles.

3.The learned counsel for the respondent undertakes that the petitioner's counsel will be furnished with the names and addresses of at least some of the selected candidates.

4.Accordingly, this petition is dismissed with liberty to the petitioner to file appropriate petition under Rule 2(A) of Appendix V of the Appellete Side Rules.
