By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.
2.Heard Mr.P.Suresh, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.A.Tamilvanan, learned Government Advocate, who takes notice on behalf of the respondents.
3.This writ petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking a writ of mandamus directing the Deputy Collector Revenue (North) Puducherry, the second respondent herein, to explore the representations dated 4.8.2014 and 4.08.2015 to rectify the mistake as T.S.No.2/1B instead of 3/1, in accordance with the Settlement Extract dated 31.07.15, issued by the Tahsildar, Taluk Office, 4.It is the case of the petitioner that he had purchased a property to an extent of 2 Kuzhies 1 Veesam, in R.S.No.178/1, Cadastre No.789 2/2, Ward No.'N', Block No.1, from one Vengaiyan, son of Kanniya Chettiar, through a registered Sale Deed dated 01.07.1986, bearing Document No.1882/86, on the file of the Sub-Registrar Office of the District Registrar, Puducherry. However, in the sale deed, the Town Survey Number (T.S.
Number) has been erroneously mentioned as 3/1 instead of 2/1B. The petitioner has submitted representations dated 4.8.2014 and 4.8.2015, to the second respondent/the Deputy Collector Revenue (North), to rectify the said error, in the light of the Settlement Extract, dated 31.07.2015, issued by the Tahsildar Taluk Office, Puducherry. Since no response is forthcoming, the petitioner is before this Court with this writ petition. 5.It is the specific case of the petitioner that he has obtained all the documents from the competent authorities and also enclosed the copies of the said documents along with the representations. 6.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the second respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 04.08.
2015 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording due opportunity to the petitioner, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
