Respondents Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records relating to G.O.(Ms.) No.51, Tamil Development - Culture and Hindu Religious (Tha Va 1.2) Department, dated 03.04.2003 issued by the Secretary, State of Tamil Nadu, Tamil Development-Culture and Hindu Religious Department, Fort St.George, Chennai - 600 009, the first respondent herein and as communicated on 11.06.2003 and quash the same and consequently direct the first respondent herein to sanction and grant the monthly pension to the petitioner herein instead of lumpsum payment, as per the provisions of the Tamil Nadu Payment of Pensions to Tamil Scholars and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1983 and the Rules made thereunder within such time.

Today, when the writ petition was taken up for hearing, Mr.N.Damodaran, learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is no more and therefore he is unable to get details about the legal heirs of the petitioner. Since, the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
petitioner could not get the details of the legal heirs after his best efforts, this Court has no other option except to dismiss the matter as 'abated'. Hence, this Writ Petition is dismissed as abated. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
