ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by M.M.SUNDRESH, J.) This public interest litigation has been filed by the petitioner seeking a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to announce the name of DMS Metro Station in the name of Late https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Dr.Kalaignar Karunanidhi DMS Metro Station.

2.Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that it is the late leader who was responsible for the establishment of the metro station. Therefore, the writ petition will have to be allowed and in any case the representation made by the petitioner will have to be considered. 3.In the absence of any legal right afflicted with the statutory duty, a writ of mandamus as sought for would not lie and, therefore request made by the petitioner cannot be considered by this Court.

4.In such view of the matter, the writ petition stands closed. However, we make it clear that the closing of this writ petition will not stand in the way of the respondents in considering the representation of the petitioner dated 05.08.2020. No costs.
