This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Declaration declaring Para-2, S.No.3 of G.O.Ms.No.3, Higher Education (K2) dept, dated 05.01.2016, holding that B.A (English & Communication) awarded by Annamalai University is not equivalent to B.A (English) as Educational qualification for the purpose of public service as ultra virus, Unconstitutional and consequently, direct the respondents to recognize the petitioner's educational qualification who passed B.A (English & Communication) awarded by Annamalai University as equivalent to B.A (English) for the purpose of public services and employment. O R D E R
The relief sought for in the present writ petition is to recognize the petitioner's educational qualification who passed B.A (English & Communication) awarded by Annamalai University as equivalent to B.A (English) for the purpose of public services and employment.
2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the present writ petition has become infructuous since the first respondent Department, vide Para-2, Resolution No.271 of G.O. (Ms)No.266, Higher Education (K2) Department, dated 29.11.2019, declared that B.A (English and Communication) (3 year Programme) degree offered by Annamalai University as equivalent to B.A. English (Distance Mode) Programme degree for the purpose of employment in Public Services.
3. In view of the submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, nothing survives in this writ petition for further adjudication and therefore, the same is dismissed as infructuous by this Court. No costs.
