..Respondents Prayer:- The Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a Writ of Mandamus, directing the Respondent to confirm the place alloted to the petitioner and allow him to continue vending in the petitioner's bunk shop at Whannels Road, Egmore Railway Station Northern side, adjoining the compound wall of St.Andrews Chruch, Egmore, Chennai-600008, wherein selling tea, coffee, snacks and other food item by considering the Petitioner's representation dated 18.03.2020.

O R D E R

The prayer sought for in the writ petition is to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 18.3.2020 seeking permission to continue vending in the petitioner's bunk shop.

2. According to the petitioner, he made a representation on 18.3.2020 before the vending committee/respondent herein, however no action taken by the respondent vending committee. Hence, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition before this Court.

3. The Standing counsel appearing for the respondent Corporation would submit that the representation of the petitioner will be considered and pass appropriate orders within the time specified by this Court.

4. Taking note of the fact that the petitioner has given representation to the respondent to continue for vending in the petitioner's bunk shop near Egmore Railway station and the same is pending for long time and considering the limited scope of prayer sought for by the petitioner, this Court is inclined to direct the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 18.3.2020 and pass appropriate orders on merit as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. The writ petition is disposed of with the above directions. No Costs. Connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
