O R D E R

(The case has been heard through video conference) The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the alleged offences punishable under Section 4(1) (aaa) and 4(1-A) of Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act, in Crime No.218 of 2019, on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner was illegally found in possession of 50 litres of ID arrack and also 5080 X 180 ml. Hence the complaint.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is an innocent person and on the confession statement of the co-accused, the petitioner's name was falsely implicated in this case. Therefore, he prays to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent would submit that the petitioner was illegally found in possession of 50 litres of ID arrack and also 5080 X 180 ml. He would further submit that the petitioner has got 13 previous cases of similar in nature against her. However, he opposed to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the petitioner being a habitual offender and she has already been involved in 13 previous cases of similar in nature, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioners.

6. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed.
