2. We have spoken to Mrs. Kokila (detenue) and the petitioner, who is her great-uncle (chinnathattha). The detenue is presently staying in a private hostel in Villivakkam.
3. Mr.Muniyapparaj, on instructions, states that that may not be the ideal place for her to reside. For the present, the detenue will reside with the petitioner at his residence at No.3/80, Slum Clearance Board, Halls Road, Chennai - 600 010 and both are agreeable to this arrangement.
4. The detenu says that she knows tailoring. The police will bring her tailoring machine and accessories from her husband's house so that the detenue may keep herself engaged till the next date of hearing.
5. Since she appears to be facing some psychiatric issues, Mr.Muniyapparaj will make arrangements for her medical assessment and treatment, if need be, with doctors at Stanley Medical Hospital. Their Report as to their diagnosis and line of treatment, if required will be filed on the next date of hearing.
6. List on 30.04.2026 at 12.00 noon."
2. Today, the detenue is present in Court along with the petitioner. She says that she is comfortable in the house of her grand uncle and he is agreeable
to her residing with him and his family. She has been given her tailoring machine and accessories and is engaging herself in that activity.
3. The Report dated 29.04.2026 given by the Senior Resident, Department of Psychiatry, Govt. Stanley Medical College & Hospital is to the effect that she was diagnosed with 'paranoid schizophernia' and was given antipsychotic medications even in July, 2021. However, she has not been regular in taking the medication. The detenu says that she will be regular in the medical treatment going forward.
4. A statement has been recorded by the authorities from Prakash, the husband of the detenu, who states that he will not disturb the detenu where she is currently residing. Evidently, the detenue and said Prakash have some matrimonial differences and they are at liberty to sort the same out in a manner known to law. The detenue has also got two children, daughter studying in XII standard and son studying in VII standard, both of whom are in the custody of the father, as on date. They are at liberty to workout their arrangements qua the custody of the children as well.
