The present writ petition is filed praying for a writ of mandamus to direct the second respondent to rectify the mistake in 'A' Register with regard to the petitioner's property in S.No.128/8A, 7A in Varagur Village, Thalaivasal Taluk, Salem District by disposing of the petitioner's representation dated 26.02.2025.
2. By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. The main grievance of the petitioner is that the petitioner is the owner of the subject property. He purchased the subject property from the legal heirs of Late.Veeramuthu Udaiyan by way of registered Sale Deed dated 14.02.2006. Even prior to purchase, the passage / cart track which was available in the property was widened by his vendors and they have enjoyed the cart track absolutely as a private pathway. Subsequently, after purchase, the petitioner has also widened the said pathway in order to provide easy access. When that being so, in UDR 'A' Register, there is a mention about 'Nilaviyal Pathai' in the survey number which was purchased by him. Hence, he made a representation requesting the second respondent for rectification of the error occurred in 'A' Register. But the representation has not been considered so far. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.
4. Learned counsel for petitioner would submit that while conversion from manual to UDR, the petitioner's property has been wrongly entered as 'Nilaviyal Pathai' and the petitioner has thus submitted a representation dated 26.02.2025 for rectification of the above error in 'A'
Register.

At the outset, it was submitted by learned Special Government Pleader for respondents that the representation dated 26.02.2025, made by petitioner would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed within a time frame fixed by this Court, which was agreed to by the learned counsel for petitioner.
6. In view of the same, taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the limited relief sought for in this writ petition, there shall be a direction to the second respondent, to consider the representation dated 26.02.2025 on its own merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, after affording reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and any other interested persons/stake holders, within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the case and it is open to the second respondent to
consider the representation on its own merits and in accordance with law.
