O R D E R

The present writ petition is filed praying for a writ of mandamus to direct the respondent to act upon the representation given by the petitioner on 25.01.2025.

2. By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

It is submitted by learned counsel for petitioner that the petitioner is the owner of the land comprised in Survey No.61/2A, Maduranthaganallur Village, Chidambaram Taluk, Chidambaram District measuring 4 cents. The petitioner submitted an application after paying necessary charges for conducting survey in the subject property. Since the same has not been considered, the petitioner made a representation on 25.01.2025 towards measuring the property. In spite of the same, no action has been taken. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.

At the outset, it was submitted by learned Government Advocate for respondent that the representation dated 25.01.2025, made by petitioner would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed within a time frame fixed by this Court, which was agreed to by the learned counsel for petitioner.

In view of the same, taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the limited relief sought for in this writ petition, there shall be a direction to the respondent, to consider the representation dated 25.01.2025 and carry out a survey, demarcate the subject property and complete the process within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order after giving prior notice to the petitioner, adjacent land owners and other interested parties including rival claimants if any. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the case and it is open to the respondent to consider the matter on its own merits and in accordance with law.
