This writ petition is filed for the following relief: "To direct the respondents to pass orders on the representation dated 10.03.2025 made by the Nedunchalai Nagar Welfare Association on behalf of the petitioners and other residents."

2. This writ petition appears to be a motivated one.

The petitioners have filed this writ petition seeking a mandamus to consider their representation dated 10.03.2025 in and by which they have questioned the establishment of Urban Primary Health Center at Godavari Street, Medunchalai Nagar, Salem. The primary heal center is sought to be put up in a vacant land measuring 3404 sq.ft., in S.No.19/2 A, which was gifted by the residents to the Sooramangalam Municipality.

4. From a reading of the petitioners' representation it appears that they are fighting the battle for a private nursing home. It is their contention that since this hospital is situate in the very same area, there was no necessity for a primary health center. Such a stand taken by the petitioners is rather unfortunate as it is a well known fact that a cost of medical treatment has been reaching astronomical heights, the primary health center which is a Government initiative would definitely come to help the lower and middle class families in and around the area. This writ petition is filed with an intent to protect commercial interest of the nursing home in question.
