Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus to the respondent to comply with para 167 of TN Govt office manual and decide his 19.03.2015 representation, by scrutinizing relevant records and earlier representations cited therein.

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal. 2.The petitioner retired from service on 31.03.1996 as Additional Superintendent of Police and he was repeatedly sending representations to the concerned authorities praying for stepping up of his pay on par with his junior namely, Thiru.Ragupathy and the last of such representation, was submitted on 19.03.2015 and though the respondent has received and acknowledged it, he has not been favoured with any kind of response and hence, came forward to file this writ petition.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is at present aged about 77 years and he is a senior citizen and considering his age and in the light of the other facts and circumstances, appropriate orders may be passed for the expeditious consideration and disposal of the representation. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

4.This Court also heard the submissions of Mr.R.Vijayakumar, learned Additional Government Pleader who accepts notice on behalf of the respondent.

5.This Court taking into consideration the limited scope of the prayer sought for by the petitioner, directs the respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 19.03.2015 on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner. 6.The writ petition is disposed of accordingly.
