.. Respondents PRAYER: Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to provide electricity connection to the petitioner's house situated at No.210, 5th Street, Bethel Nagar (South), Enjambakkam, Chennai - 41.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) The prayer made in the writ petition is for grant of electricity connection.

2. The counter affidavit filed on behalf of the respondents states:

(a) the petitioner has not applied for service connection in the prescribed format;

(b) the building is constructed in water body poramboke; and (c) No Objection Certificate from appropriate authority for effecting service connection not submitted.

3. In view of the aforesaid position, we are not inclined to entertain the petition and it is for the petitioner to comply with the requirements for obtaining the electricity connection. The petition is dismissed with the aforesaid liberty. No costs.
