For Petitioner in both W.Ps : Mr. V.Stalin For Respondents : Mr. C.Manohar (for R1 & R2) in both W.Ps ***** C O M M O N O R D E R The instant Writ Petitions have been filed to direct the respondents to re-designate the petitioners as Assistant Engineers from the date of their acquiring required educational qualification, in accordance with the orders of the Hon'ble Supreme Court dated 03.11.2017 in Civil Appeal Nos. 1786917890 of 2017, and Annexure-1 of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board Service Regulations.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that during the pendency of these Writ Petitions, some employees preferred Writ Petition in W.P. No. 33033 of 2019, seeking similar relief as sought in the present Writ Petitions. However, the private respondents preferred writ appeal in W.A. No. 681 of 2020, which was eventually allowed on 23.12.2021. Notably, the present petitioners had impleaded themselves as parties in the Writ Appeal. 3/6

Aggrieved against the order of the writ appeal, the petitioner therein preferred a Review Application in Rev. Aplw. No. 143 of 2023, are the same is still pending. In this view of the matter, now the learned counsel for the petitioner would pray to close this writ petition by giving liberty to file a fresh writ petition subject to the outcome of the Review Petition.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the respondents has no serious objections to the above submissions.

4. Recording the submission of the learned counsel for the petitioners, these Writ Petitions are closed, giving liberty to the petitioners to file a fresh Writ Petition, subject to the outcome of the Review Petition.
