The petitioner seeks for a mandamus directing the respondent to dispose of the application dated 05.05.2017 to resume his Indian Citizenship as provided under Rule 24(1) of The Citizenship Rules, 2009 of The Citizenship Act, 1955.
2. After notice, the matter is listed today for further hearing.
3. Learned counsel for the respondent, based on instruction, submitted that the petitioner has not paid the necessary fees to consider his application and therefore, without making such payment, he cannot seek for a direction to the respondent to dispose of his application.

4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner would make a fresh application by paying necessary fees and therefore, such liberty may be given to the petitioner.
5. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of by granting liberty to the petitioner to make a fresh application with necessary fees. If any such application is filed, it is for the respondent to consider the same on its own merits and in accordance with law and pass orders as expeditiously as possible. It is made clear that this Court is not expressing any view on the claim made by the petitioner as it is for the respondent to consider and decide the same on its own merits and in accordance with law. No costs.
