ORDER

By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

2.The petitioner would state that he is employed as a Technician in the Civil Engineering Department (ETP Division) of the second respondent and has submitted an application in No.1162 on 23.10.2014, opting to retire on Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS) in terms of the Circular issued by the second respondent dated 21.3.2014, and since no orders have been passed, came forward to file this writ petition.

3.The learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner, would submit that following the petitioner's application dated 23.10.2014, he has also submitted a reminder to the second respondent and it was https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

also acknowledged on 17.4.2014, and no response is forthcoming and hence, prays for appropriate orders.

4.This Court heard the submissions of Mr.Su.Srinivasan, learned Assistant Solicitor General of India, who accepted notice on behalf of the first respondent, also.

5.Though the petitioner prayed for a larger relief, this Court, in the light of the facts and circumstances, directs the second respondent to act on the VRS Application No. 1162 dated 23.10.2014, submitted by the petitioner, after taking note of it's own Circular dated 21.3.2014, as well as the reminder dated 17.4.2014, submitted by the petitioner, on merits and in accordance with law, and pass orders thereon, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken to the petitioner. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
