Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for isssue of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to continue the petitioner services till and upto 31.05.2025, by taking the petitioner's date of birth as 16.05.1965 and by correcting his date of birth as 16.05.1965 in the petitioner's service register and in all his service records. The writ petition is filed for issue of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to continue the petitioner's services upto 31.05.2025, by taking his date of birth as 16.05.1965 and by correcting his date of birth as 16.05.1965 in his Service Register and in all his service records. Heard both sides.

The petitioner is currently working as a Senior Reporter in the Police Department. According to him, his date of birth was erroneously 2\4

entered in the Service Register. He makes a further claim that the application for correction of his date of birth was made in time. Be that as it may, the 3rd respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's application made with regard to the correction of his date of birth and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5.

It is made clear that this Court has not gone into the merits of the case and the decision to be taken is left to the discretion of the 3rd respondent.

The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs. Connected W.M.P. is closed.
